"I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are— particularly when it’s difficult. People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me. Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain (“I’m not a big one for paying compliments…”), but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."

Kirsty Mitchell’s late mother Maureen was an English teacher who spent her life inspiring generations of children with imaginative stories and plays. Following Maureen’s death from a brain tumour in 2008, Kirsty channelled her grief into her passion for photography.

She retreated behind the lens of her camera and created Wonderland, an ethereal fantasy world. The photographic series began as a small summer project but grew into an inspirational creative journey.

‘Real life became a difficult place to deal with, and I found myself retreating further into an alternative existence through the portal of my camera,’ said the artist. (read the rest here).

lol. There’s literally a heart over his head while he’s looking at her. Like they’re in some sort of sweet cartoon where the boy is in love with a crazy girl. He loves her no matter what she’s doing. He loves her while she’s wearing a wedding dress she put on for another man. He loves her while she’s running away from said wedding. He loves her when she’s insulting some poor stranger in the middle of the airport. He loves her when a stranger is insulting the both of them in the middle of the airport. He loves her when she’s insulting his wardrobe. He loves her whenever, wherever, and however. He just loves her.
